IPL hair removal treatments are an easy, and quick solution to unwanted hair and can be successfully used on the body or the face. Usually a course of 6 –10 treatments is required to achieve optimal result, but once you have completed your treatment cycle, you can look forward to a lifetime of smooth skin with only the occasional maintenance treatment. Compare that to the cost and hassle of a lifetime of waxing. 6 treatments spaced two to three weeks apart is usually required to reach your best possible outcome.
How does it work?
We use a high-powered, hand-held, computer-controlled flashgun to deliver an intense, visible, broad-spectrum pulse of light, generally in the visible spectral range of 400 to 750 nm. This light travels through the skin until it strikes the hair shafts or the bulb (root). The light is absorbed, the bulb and most of the hair shaft are heated, destroying the hair-producing papilla.
How long does it take for your hair to fall out after IPL hair reduction?
In many patients the skin is slightly pink for 1-2 days; in others (generally, fairer patients) there is no pinkness after IPL. Hairs begin to fall out in 5-14 days and may continue to do so for weeks.
How long do you have to wait between IPL hair reduction sessions?
For hair reduction to be effective the hair must be treated during the active phase of growth. Performing treatments 4-6 weeks apart will give the highest chance of treating most of the hair follicles in the area during their active phase.
